You can import some .OBJ 3D model and move it in Anime Studio Pro, but I think the result will be very different.

I will create static 3d models for the anime studio - like house ,weapons ......

I find that i need 2 files for the import the 3D *.obj file in the Anime studio .
Obj file [the OBJ file format is a simple data-format that represents 3D geometry alone] and the MTL Files [material definitions for OBJ files] .

Without the MTL file is the model just white

Some suggestion about programs that can create this 2 files ??

Looking through the forum I noticed that Kkrawal uses Blender. I've tried but even with the mtl file in the same folder I can't get ASPro to recognize it... Can't get PS CS3 to recognize it either. I heard PS CS4 can create/update mtl files for obj files too. Blender is free and you may have to be wealthy or creative to get the others.

I've found Metasequoia seems to be able to export obj files that import properly into ASP. Downside is that the developer is Japanese so finding tutorials could be a challenge. Also, obj export is only available in the paid version, currently $45.

Note: Besides the mtl file, be sure to include the texture file (jpg, etc.) in the same folder.

Regarding that video, my guess is that those figures were exported from Poser as bitmaps with alpha, not as 3D obj.

If you want to create 3D models that support Anime Studio you can use Wings 3D. But if you're wanting animated 3D models, such as charaters, in Anime Studio you can use something like, MilkShape 3D. Then you export as an image sequence and then import into Anime Studio. Or maybe even export as a video with alpha channel, then import.
