Old-timey style animation- Best Buy contest entry

Post by jhbmw007 »

I made this over the course of 2 late nights. You may need to pause it to be able to read each intertitle. The dang music was too fast- I even slowed it down quite a bit. Please rate it 5 stars so I can win! :)

Hm hm ... not bad.

But if you really want to work in an authentic old-fashioned style, you'll need a better understanding of rubberhose animation. Here (http://johnkstuff.blogspot.com/2007/08/ ... inner.html) is the best source about that.

@slowtiger - for some reason the little animation on that page reminds me of the old B&W cartoon Steamboat Willie. Was that Mickey Mouse?
Am I nuts, or do I recognise a style :)

Great Job.

BTW: This may seem like a really weird question, but where did you get the phrase "bee's knees"?

The Bees Knees is used frequently in the UK. Along with the Dogs Bollocks, which is the rude version.

Uh, can someone do me a favor and look at the "related videos" on this (on the right side of the page)- what do you see? Because I get a bunch of Arab stripper movies- that is not related AT ALL to my video! The tags aren't even the same...?! Unless it's just my computer that knows I want to look at Arab stripper movies... lol.

Same here.
Maybe those stupids from youtube made a quick visual analysis of your animation and then classified it internally for its "Related section" like an Arabian dance. Really the cat and the dog are moving its hips "like an Arabian dance". Strange but it could be a valid hypothesis, isn't it?
