Some work for the web using AS

Post by ink animations »

For anyone who is interested here is a link to some work we produced for the web using AS and Flash:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/alba/fogh ... ndex.shtml

Some of it may be hard to understand as some words are in Scottish Gaelic!

There is a link at the bottom of the page to view previous episodes with a new one coming out each month.

Any thoughts welcome!

Cheers,

ink animations.

Impressive stuff, whatever they are saying!

The wobbling noses were a nice touch.

Seems like a lot more Flash than AS in there, but it was great. I think I understood mostly everything too.

Thanks very much for the positive Comments everyone.

Im not sure about it being the best use of AS as Ive seen some pretty amazing stuff on this forum, including what ive seen from You Mikdog and DarthFurby, but we appreciate the comment very much!

All the character animation was actually done in AS which was then composited with the Backgrounds in Flash and exported to swf.

I'll repost the link whenever a new episode is up.

Very cool stuff.

Definitely some of the better work I've seen done in AS so far. You can definitely tell its done in AS...w/ the bouncy noses and arms and such.

Wow, it looked like something that could be played on tv. That toon really shows the capabilities of AS. Funny stuff.

Fantastic!! Another great piece that further legitimizes AS as a professional animation tool!! Definitely broadcast quality.

Were the characters & backgrounds drawn in AS?

How long does it take to produce one of your webisodes?

Again, sweet sweet stuff there.

Hi Guys, thanks again for your positive comments.

Gnaws,
All the Characters were drawn and animated in AS, the BGs were drawn in Illustrator.

It usually takes 2 weeks (sometimes a couple of days more depending on complexity of episode) to animate an episode with another person doing the BGs, compositing, creating any effects and dipping into the animation also.

cheers,
