My little project thingie

Post by Mikdog »

Hi,

I posted another test render of my little project animation thing. Here it is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8j5lH7UyeA <-- without voices, just acting

Needs to be re-animated. Bugs fixed, etc... I kind of like it.

Thanks,

Mike

I couldn't hear any sound though, is there any?
Well done!

Hi,

Thanks. There is no sound.
Also wanted to know - where does one buy a CD of cartoon sound effects? I got loads of cheap sound effects on my PC, but I really want a pack of really good quality sound effects that I can get hold of.

If anyone could please recommend something, that'd be awesome.

Visit ***RESOURCES*** topic from cribble in Tips and Thecniques section. There are lots of good free sounds over internet.

Cheers!

Mikdog,

That is really coming along nicely. The spring of the characters is nice, and adds a lot to the overall feel of the piece. Having the backgrounds pan in separate depths as the camera moves left or right works very well here, along with the depth of field blurring of the trees, etc. The only real comment I have at this point is that when the camera is pulled back to see a larger area, there are vertical lines appearing between the blue columns of waves.

Keep it up, and keep us informed!

Thanks Jorgy. Shot, ya, I also check the lines in the waves when the camera pulls back.

Thanks. Might not do the whole blurring thing though.

Thanks again,

Mike

I have to say again I love this piece of animation.
But if you want constructive critics here they are:

For me the blur amount for the far away objesct is very high. I would put less blur. When the camera goes to a panoramic the blur should dissapear.

Still loving the rubber effect of the whole image when move the camera very quick. :)

The splash eeffect is good also.

Cheers!

I agree with Genete... the background blur is way too extreme.

This time around, the sheer expressiveness on the characters is the thing that impresses me the most...

as is often the case, it's the telling little things...

case in point: the way the girlie-triangle purses her lips in an "OOO..." when she rides on the back of the that other thing (whatever that is)...

Ditto the snaggle-tooth grin of the abstract hero

I think in general the motion has the same very fluid, very hip, very sophisticated quality, and lots of living energy

The superjelly in the hero walk still bugs me tho

Hi guys,

Useful points, which I think I will implement (reducing the blur, the super-jelly walk)

Thanks again. ;)
