"Mike the Rattlesnake"

Post by Gnaws »

This a short, short piece (with a self-imposed deadline - 5 days from sketches to completion) I created in order to become more acclimated with AS and do a piece completely in AS. I figured out how to do scene jumps (folder visibility), got more comfortable with switch layers, and bone manipulation.

The audio is a stream-of-conciousness narrative by my 4-year-old daughter.

i dig it.

Maybe add a backbeat to it. It will make a big difference.

Also sound effects, like then the sign pops up and down, and when Mike points to himself, and when he pops up as the adventurer, etc.

Also, an orchestra hit when THE END appears.

Cool.

Great ideas, Thank you. Obviously, I'm not much of a sound guy. I should pick up one of those cartoon s/fx CDs.

That's really nicely done Gnaws. Look forward to seeing more.

OT: I menioned it elsewhere but my new favorite "Free Sounds" are at http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/

There are a few related 'free sound' and 'low cost sound' etc threads in the 'Chit-Chat' forum.

Very nice. I wouldn't add sound effects, or if you do they shouldn't be too cartoony.

The second half could use a bit more zing. The first half has a lot of funny moments, like the snake pointing to himself with his tail. The second half is just a series of images zooming in one after another. It would be nice to see the snake in there somewhere, and the timing of the images could be more snappy, maybe? What if they popped onscreen one after another and then arranged themselves into a "food pyramid", as if they were the basic food groups recommended by nutritionists for snakes or something?
