ONLY thing that put me off which I think you really should correct is the PEN in the intro.

Once the snapshot's been taken and the camera pulls back from it, there's a pen that 'FLOATS' on the piece of paper.

The character animation is outstanding.

I'd IMAGINE they're saying something about the professor having a bad day?

Very cool. Fix the 'floating pen!' Looks like a mistake.
You mean the floating paper! I know about it and it's been corrected already. The paper actually moves not the pen. You guys are seeing a pre release, you'll notice that there is no link from our site to this movie. The same as La Reine Soleil, we always treat the members of this forum to exclusive previews and those previews usually contain a lot of mistakes but if you've only caught one then I guess we're doing pretty well.

Super extra, j'adore!

Oooops, french got the better of me! :D

It shines, it is of very high quality and to answer the poll on the website, yes, it should go on tv, I entered the poll and cant wait to see it if it goes through!

If it ever goes on tv, will you guys be in charge of that or did you just make the pilot for it?

Thank you for posting this, Greykid, and not waiting for subtitles. I do speak French, and I like Belgian comic styles.

Great work !!! :)
I am French and I know this comic.
I notice you kept the comic's graphic style, which is really cool because as usual the graphic style is different from a comic to its cartoon version.

Here is a little translation of speechs :
The sport teacher says "Ah ah ah. You are limp Barbier, do these 50 press-ups again."
Barbier answers "That is unfair sir, I will tell my father about it !"
An other boy whispers "Hum, what is the job of Barbier's father again ?"
The other boy answers "I beleive he is in charge of the maintenance of the teachers room's cafe machine..."

Ahhh, DominiqueBray....

You have proved to me beyond a doubt you are French! That and your provfile says you live in France where....er... French people live, but of course not only France...er... opening... can... of... worms...

cannot... close...

Thanks for the translation (don't know why we didn't post it earlier!)

Thanks for the comment on style, I really feel if the publisher has sold many millions of copies then to keep a style which is already loved is a good thing!

We are just finishing a pilot for the comic book Les Rugbymen, by the same publisher, it will go online in January.

I agree on Dominique comments, great stuff, as for the french outside of France, well, there are 7 millions of us in Quebec Canada, and very proud to be so!

As De Gaule said, "Vive le Quebec libre!"

Again, are you guys commissioned to do the series or we're commissioned for the pilot only, that is if the question can be answered!

Hi GCharb,

Theres always a lot of factors in these kind of things!

The tv network who commissions the show may already have a company they work with and who they say must make the show. The show may be split up over different countries to take advantage of certain tax incentives.

One thing is sure though, I do not believe that any other software can do a fine job on the show as Anime Studio. Flash and ToonBoom can not come close and high end software like Sympony is very expensive to make a production like this on.

We did put in our budget as well as an option of tax incentives. But we aren't a huge studio and we specialise commercials, long features and pilots. Series work is very demanding both physically and mentally and the turn around time for a network these days is insane, obviously you don't say no to a job like this and we were the ones who paid for the pilot and showed the publishing company what was possible with their work, so we'll just wait and see.

Lets just say that I do expect for us to produce the series.

Very cool work and a very cool show of Anime Studio. It's inspiring to see the program put to such use on major projects.
