i'm working with 3d objects and several masks. i think this open to moho a very interesting way to make nicer characters.
what do you think?

Hi selgin!

I really like your character, and the 3d head and nose. It would be very interesting to see how you made this character with all masks and thing, is it possible to have a look at the .moho file?

the moho file

Post by Víctor Paredes »

thanks guys
is it possible to have a look at the .moho file?
yes, here is the file with the 3d objects (a head, a nose and a hat), the image layer of the body and everything else.
http://www.freewebs.com/tazatriste/mohos/snufkin.rar
http://www.freewebs.com/tazatriste/mohos/snufkin
if you don't have winrar, download this second file and save it as "snufkin.zip" (freeewebs don't let me upload .zip with its original name, i don't know why)

notice that if you move the camera, the headnosehat shading will change, and if you move the head, the undesired change will happen too.
so, this technique must be applied just when you know exactly where your characters will be. with a rigid storyboard.

notice too the shadows on the head group layer and in the nose layer.

i hope it be useful.

My daughter (14 years) saw your character over my shoulder and said, "Wow. That's really cute." It sure works for me too even if I avoid the "c" word.

here is the completely 3d character without masks yet.
it's boned and can be animated with partial freedom.

Very nice work. Thanks for sharing the file as well. I like it and may have to experiment with this 3D/2D character as well as it seems to work very nicely.

(and i love animated gifs!, it's like back to the 90's internet, when people had not fotolog, blog or whatever.
oh yes, this horribly beautiful pages with a little animated gif in mosaic as background, where you had to select the text to read it. what a life!)

did you uncompress all the files inside a folder? (remember if you don't, the reference wich moho does won't exist)
did you try with all the files to download?
if all don't work you can download the object source script 7feet upload some time ago.
7feet wrote:Okay, whipped up a little script for you:
http://www.sharemation.com/Moho/MenuScr ... Source.lua
Menu script, will tell you the path of the OBJ file for the current layer, and let you change it if you want. How's that for service?
Okay, back to the hard stuff.
just use the script with any 3dobject in the layer window.

note:
left leg=piernaiz
right leg=piernader
left foot= pieiz
right foot= pieder
hat= gorro
head= cabeza
nose= nariz
left hand= manoiz
right hand= manoder
left arm= brazoiz
right arm= brazoder
