animated painting and copper engravings

It has been a while since I posted something here, so I thought the animation I did last year for an exhibition film could be interesting. Luckily I upgraded to Moho 12 just shortly before working on this project, what came in handy, as the new morph target possibilities where essential to animate the painted character you see in the beginning.

Separating the characters of the copper engravings from their backgrounds was more time consuming than the actual animation, also the portrait of "Fougeroux" had to be repainted as the photo I got as a reference was just to blurry. All in all I enjoyed the project, learned something new and the client was quite pleased with the result... phew, it is always a Zitterpartie a nail-biter in the beginning of new projects when I don't know if I can pull it off. Even after all these years as an animation artist it is always the same.
However, I could imagine museums in general would like these kind of visualisations for their exhibitions, what do you think?
Just in case, here is my new portfolio page with animation not only done with Moho: https://skitoba-portfolio.blogspot.com/
