D.R. Greenlaw Demo Reel, 2017 Edition

Last month, I reached my second anniversary as an artist and animator at DreamWorks Animation. To mark the occasion, I put together a demo reel featuring some of the animation I did at DWA between 2015 - 2016. Much of the work on this reel was created using Moho 12 or ASP 11.

We use a lot of different programs in our department, but Moho is my go-to for creating great looking 2D character animations quickly. Besides, it's a lot of fun to use. :D

Enjoy!

Excellent! Great to see another example of how Moho is used in a professional environment.

I see a lot of 2d. I think that from the reel DreamWorks hands the 2d to you and just a few others.

Among many diverse tasks, the team I'm with animates all the 2D intro/outro/backstory segments for a handful of shows. Most of what you see in my reel is from The Croods, All Hail King Julien, and Puss In Boots, but we get involved with nearly all of the DreamWorks/Netflix shows at one point or another. Our team is kinda like a Swiss army knife of animation production--2D, 3D, VFX, custom coding, etc, we're up to the challenge. :)

Thanks for the kind comments guys! I'm glad you enjoyed my 2017 demo reel.

BTW, I posted a second reel a couple of weeks ago featuring my work between 2013 - 2015, but it's a VFX and CG animation reel. In other words, not so much 2D or Moho animation. (Although, during that period, I was starting to learn Moho and made Scareplane during my lunch breaks.)

A quick warning: this second reel features work I created for horror films like Sharknado 2, so it can be pretty gory in spots. But if you're okay with that: My 'The Asylum' Demo Reel (2015)

Hi D.R. Greenlaw I saw your reel from your site and I let you a coment there, as others says its good to see Moho is used for all the 2d at Dreamworks, I always hearing other complainig an tellling Moho could not be used for studio work but I always believe it couold be. Thanks again, your work is great.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

Just to be clear, many different tools and software are used to create the animation, and the work you see in our shows is the collaborative effort of a lot of talented people. That said, lately, Moho is used for a significant chunk of my work there. :)
