The Itch - my graduation film

Post by PatrickS »

It's a bit of an oldie by now, since I graduated in 2009, but I just uploaded this to youtube and thought it would be fun to share it here. I'm not sure wich version of the software I used, but I know we didn't have smartbones and such, so I mostly used simple bone setups and point animation to pose the characters. Backgrounds are a combination of 3d mockups and photoshop. Hope you like it!

Are you kidding!!! I imagine you're now working full time as an animator somewhere as that is one incredible graduation reel. How much involved Moho I wonder and if it was significant this needs to go onto the official website pronto.

I agree! Polished, witty and skillful. A great animation.
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

This is a superior work on all levels, story, design, color, animation...great job. In 2009, the version of ASP is probably 5.6 or 6. Doesn't really matter. As usual, it's not the software, it's the talent...

Thanks for sharing. :D

Very good. Maybe a bit slow in the beginning, but great facial expressions. And some of the best animation done in AS/Moho. This film should be shown to all who claim not to be able to animate without smart bones and all that ...

You worked on Leaving Home - that was a nice film too. (Joost Liewmas Paniek was an audience favourite in Stuttgart.) Please do more animation!

Excellent! One of the things that make this forum so great is that you can have a global dialogue with professional animators.

That is a really excellent piece of work. I'm not sure how you accomplished that fluidity of shape and movement using Moho in 2009, but the results have the dynamism of hand drawn animation.

Another fine example of the quality of work that can be produced with Anime Studio (Moho) even in its earlier version.

Great work, thank you for sharing!

Magnificent! Story, characters, animation - simply magnificent.
Sincere compliments.

Oh, yes... the transformation scene is one of the most concise I have ever seen.
