I saw this picture of the ocean surface from below and felt inspired to try and re-create something like it in Anime Studio. This is a first attempt so it's pretty rough, but I think it turned out pretty neat. If anyone knows a better method, let me know.

Wait a second...
I see just one image here and "Image" written under. Is this shown image render from AS, am I missing something or shall I just pick my jaw from the floor? ,)

Re: Water Surface test
Here is my first attempt. It's not perfect, but if I had more time I think I could improve the waves. You can download the file here and improve if you want to.

Re: Water Surface test
Beautiful job, thx for posting. After carefully watching it 5 times I think I understand how it was assembled. Wouldn't have thought of that on my own. Grateful you shared it, it'll come in handy

Re: Water Surface test
I think I understand how you put the surface together. It's so simple, but ingenious. I gave it a try and this is my initial result. I'm going to fiddle around with lighting ideas and other effects to make it more interesting.
Re: Water Surface test
This is pretty cool I tried something similar a but did it from the top view thanks to this thread.
Couldn't get this done without thresholds or blend methods....Needs more work. Its too shiny.
