Yeah, that's what I meant. I think I need to re-do the bones.

I think so. I’ve found that CP rigs are fairly basic and you’ll need to adjust the rig to optimize it for the specific action you want to convey. Or do as Little Yamori says and make ad hoc point motions to fix the problem. It's messy, but since you're not interested in reusability at this point, it probably the faster way to go.
Well, if all goes well, I'll use her again in another commercial, so I think it might be worth it.

Thanks,

I have read this topic a few times and have not said anything hoping someone else would. To me the back ground(not saying it is bad) just does not go with this character. I would rather see you make the back ground in AS. Or maybe add some color to the back ground in that program you used.

Just my 2 cents

Stephen
Sorry for bad animation

Could you explain "floating" to me? I could understand levitating would be bad, but her arm? Do you mean constantly moving? The motion isn't deliberate enough? Do you mean the slow motion between widely spaced keyframes?

I'm working on the bone set up now, and trying to fix things. I just noticed that she seems to levitate a bit, but I can't find the keyframes I need to eliminate.

Thanks,

I know the style is a little different, she's completely flat, and the background is more 3D, but it doesn't really bother me. I thought about treating it in Photoshop somehow, but ultimately I decided against it. It was originally in color, but in Photoshop I got rid of the color, with the idea that when she gets her new stove, her world brightens up and becomes more colorful. She's been living in a black and white world with her 1950s appliances.

Being done in 3D means I can easily change camera angles, or add or remove things. I don't really see an advantage of doing the whole background in AS. To me, that means more work, unless I go super minimalist.

I'm pretty happy with it as is. Thanks though,

By 'floating' I mean her right thigh bone and left upper arm bone start to drift to a different position before she reacts to the stove flaring up.
If your animation starts at frame one then create a Manipulate Bone key for the right thigh bone on frame one. Copy and paste that key to the frame where her 'startled' reaction starts.

Got ya. Thanks, I fixed that. Couldn't figure out what was causing it. I finally just copied and pasted all bone movement from frame one to when she reacts to the fire. I found that there were a whole bunch of keyframes that were a mistake, probably caused by me checking "copy entire document" when pasting keyframes.

Here's the revision. Still more to do though overall.

Looks much better! Do you have a deadline? Is it a TV ad or a web ad?

It's a TV ad, for cable. Right now, I'm waiting on the store owner to return home. He's out of state right now. I need his approval. I've been working with another guy who doesn't have final approval authority. So, maybe next week.

Here is the latest version. I fixed a bunch of things. Made the character less affluent, at beginning and end, removed url from tablet screen, and improved poof of smoke at the end. Also shifted address and phone number to fit within title safe margins, and re-arranged graphics on delivery truck, also to fit within title safe for older 3:4 aspect televisions. (important since these people are more likely to have old appliances) I noticed I wasn't able to see the whole phone number watching the spot on my old TV. I see this way too often these days. It's still something you have to pay attention to.

I am most proud of my poof of smoke at the end there. Is it reminiscent of Underdog?

Thanks.
