Skaven - Warhammer Fantasy

Post by BiggyRich »

Started work on a Skaven Clan rat model which I will post up for download when finished. So far I've got the initial sketches and a start to the vectors.

Initial Skaven model concept:

Still Quite a way to go but pleased with how its going so far. Not sure I will cell shade for all (example tail). As this will all be a problem when it comes to rigging and smart bones. I do like the look though.

Hopefully more progress will be made before next weekend when I will be embarking on some new (as yet undefined) projects.

Let me know if you have any opinions, thought or tips.

Many thanks

Like the sketches and the colour choices -- be interested in seeing it move!

The tail looks a bit stiff. Take a look at selgin's mini-tutorial on "rubber-hose" type rigging with AS (don't have a link to hand, sorry).

I honestly can't remember! I *think* it involved an octopus...

One thing I was wondering is with the top hand gripping the polearm. At the moment the arm is not connected to the hand. The polearm is bound to the bottom hand bone as is the top hand. I'm thinking of other ways to tackle this but wondered is there a correct way of tackling this. :?:

Found a thread where he was animating a tiger leg and the stripes were set to a path running through the leg. Very clever and should work for tail. Thanks
