SafeSearchLock - software introduction video

Post by neilk »

Hello everyone,
I have recently done a video introduction for a software product called SafeSearchLock. This is the first publicly available animation I have released using Anime Studio Debut 7. All my animation work prior to this was created in Flash, and I am sooooo glad I switched to Anime Studio! It is much easier for this kind of work.

Anyway, the Web site which has the video embedded in it is here:
http://www.safesearchlock.com
It is better to view it here so you can see it in the context of the site. The product automatically locks on the safe-search and family filter modes for sites like Google, Bing, Yahoo, YouTube etc. in all major browsers without having to create accounts on each one. More info is available on the site if you are interested.
You can also view the video on YouTube but it won't have the same impact here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ft9XrqpviJU

Let me know what you think! Thanks.

Hi neilk,

I think that was great!

(...and if you want me to comment on what I might change or take another look at (my first impression)... the "miniature person's" voice for the first line was lost for me (a tad too quiet?). I don't know if it was just surprise or what... but it "seemed" a little softer than the rest?)

Anyway, the voice actors were great (charming) and the message clear. Nicely done!

Thanks for the feedback Fulkster. Any suggestions or comments are always welcome.
The sound levels for the voices should be the same and do appear the same on the machines I tested it on. It could be because the child's voice has a lot less bass than the adult so on any audio system which boosts lower frequencies there would be a bigger difference. I will look into tweaking it and see if I can equalize them more.

UPDATE: A colleague of mine who specialises in audio work has tweaked and vastly improved the audio on the video. He has also added a very subtle custom music track which really gives it some audio polish. I should have just asked him to help out in the first place!

As before, the best way to see it is in place on the website:
http://www.safesearchlock.com
or you can access the new YouTube video directly here:

(Which begs the question - how come YouTube still won't let you overwrite an existing video with an updated one?! Oh well).

As always, comments are welcome.

It needs to have a pair of eye blinks to un-stress the animation.
