Hi all,

Thanx for the nice words!

Wrt to the white rim, I am still figuring out how to correct this best, this is due to a mistake I made while drawing the pictures in photoshop. I am afraid I have to redo that work so it might be a little later I correct this.

Wrt to the dark roofs, yes the roofs look dark on youtube but the original quicktime looks much brighter, not sure what youtube does. Still figuring out if I am going to correct this as the original QT looks very nice for my purposes.

Wrt to the refelection: they are a vertically mirrored copy of the layers with the orignal and the opacity changed to 20%. They are on top of the blueish water layer.

Impressive. Although the bird looks a little "stiff". Can you make it swoop and spin a little bit? So it is more graceful, as it were.

gobsmacked. brilliant work. I don't mind the white fringes - artifacts of how this was put together but i guess that's a style and preference issue.

You make me think ASP maybe IS the tool for this sort of work. I'm going to have to look more into the 3d capabilities now. I guess these are all two dimensional sheets, which you have arranged in three dimensions and then the camera moves through them. Like building model houses out of paper.

I wonder if I have understood correct and I wonder how easy that is to acheive.

Thanks so much for sharing this.

Your assumption is correct, it are all 2d drawings done in photoshop, impoted into as and arranged in 3d space

I wonder if anyone has done a tutorial in this area. Some experimentation goes a long way I suppose. Or maybe I could actually finish working through that manual...

Anyway thanks for your response and well done once again. You have created something genuinely charming and pleasing to the eye. Best of luck finishing the piece.

I am wondering about the roof of the tunnel since it is not a flat surface. Did you do it as flat polygon sections?

Basicly yes, the roof of the tunnel is done in 2 parts, the left and the right. The roof itself consists of multiple planes, each having a different angle with the wall.

The process: First I laid out the wall and the planes of the roof in 2d space. It is a hierachical structure, wall is in the parent group, n roof planes in the first child group, n - 1 roof planes in the first child group of the first group etc. First I set the X angle of the first child group, then I set the X angle of the first child group of the first child group etc. In the end the last roof plane has an angle of 90deg with the wall. Finally I place the parent group in 3d space, 90 deg rotated around the y axis.

Stunningly beautiful work. Especially since you did so much with photoshop, and then created the 3d effect with AS.

And people say AS is limited in what it can do...
You are proving a lot of nay-sayers wrong.

VERY nice work!

I SO enjoy your updates!
You may want to remove the outline edges on the elbow of the princess, so that the arm looks to be one limb, and not two joined together. Her movements still seem a bit jerky, but overall, it's very fun to watch.
