Interesting samples - but who's used AS for a major project?

Post by Mohlar »

I was browsing this part of the forum with a friend when she said, "There's some interesting stuff here, but has Anime Studio been used for anything big?"

By that she meant either an actual animated film or at least a fully developed short animation feature.

I couldn't answer the question. There are links to some small projects or series on Youtube (Carrotmanshow, The leaf monster etc) but I don't think she was thinking along those lines.

So --- beyond short experiments; fascinating physics experiments such as Heyvern's battle bots; short animations such as coaster61's 'Carrotman' series or 'mini films' such as 'Major Tom' by Peter Schilling, can anyone point me towards examples of Anime Studio having been used for major projects?

Must say, though - I thought that 'Major Tom' was a really inspirational piece of work, so anything else of that quality would certainly count. For anyone who hasn't seen it -

I use it for drug and alcohol educational material which is taken out to local high schools. I've presented it at an international harm reduction conference in Bankok last year, and this year I'm making the sequel and presenting it at a health conference interstate.

Also a short educational animation re: MDMA effect on Serotonin

So, in answer to your question, no. Nothing Big. :)

If you hadn't associated them with AS, I'd have assumed the MDMA animations were made with Flash - very smooth work.

I have worked on big projects, not huge, but big ones.

Four mapuche tales shorts:

Eight spots for a chinese exportation firm. this videos were made for a huge fifteen meters screen

Elal, a 12 minutes short. Not very good in my taste, but one of my big ones

I have many projects of shorts and little spots. Right now I'm working on the promo for a car composed by ten little shorts, on a couple children video clips and some more "artistic" projects.
