Playing with layers and live video

Post by stephen »

Here is a video, a bit rough around the edges. Its a mix of live video, animation, and music.

Its an example of playing around with layers in 3-D.

I did it with just Anime Studio, iMovie HD, Garage Band, and Gimp.

hi. There is only one use of a mask in this video. When the book opens to the page with the flaming heart, I used a mask to keep the flames restricted to just the page.

Everything I know about masking I learned from this tutorial:
viewtopic.php?t=11430

He has a video there that demonstrates masking.

All other effects that look like masking, for instance looking through the window was done with image layers with alpha channels. For instance to see out the window in the cartoon room to the butterflies outside. I made a png image layer for that wall of the room that had a transparent alpha channel where the window opening is.

Hope that helps.

I will go in to more details if anyone wishes.
