Grampian Horn music video done in Anime Studio 5.6

Post by mozza »

Hi there,

Long time Moho user, just putting up a video I've completed for a bit of bubblegum electronica I put together at the end of last year.

http://vimeo.com/9050844

Took a little bit of time as it's all one take but thanks to help on these forums and that fantastic rendering fix for Anime Studio 5.6 on the Mac it got finished without too many crashes/tears!

BTW The credits at the end aren't meant to flash with such urgency - they were added afterwards in Quicktime and, although they didn't flash on the original, they did after Vimeo re-compressed it :(

That is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen come out of AS. I love that kind of music and the visuals go very well with it.

 Brilliant!

That's very nice and beautiful scene, it's a great effect to have "glas" effect over everything, well done!!

Beautiful stained glass effect, I only wonder if it would have been better to have the the glass texture move along with the different layers of animation? By putting them in a group folders?

I think the opposite, it's a very nice effect not to let it move with the other layers.

*wow*

thanks for all the positive responses. feel guilty as I didn't have to render a walk cycle once in the process :-) all done with camera pans and zooms - the hallmark of a lazy animator ;-)

I was considering having the glass move with the panels (using the hsv modifiers setting in the layers to give each element the properties of hand-blown glass) but in the end opted for the straight refracted glass look. I think all the panels divided by the calmes on the hills would have driven me mad to do as separate shapes with individual fills. In the end the hills are a flat shape and the calmes are separate lines on top of it.

Anime Studio was perfect for this work as it allowed the camera to zoom through the scene whilst retaining the line thickness, so the lead never changes, flattening the scene nicely.

Thanks again for the kind comments.

Ok, you're my official new hero!

I've done some actual stained glass in the past and man did you get it PERFECT.

Absolutely love everything about the song and video. Incredible.
