By the way Mikdog, I recognized the analogies in your video, because my discoveries are the same, the only difference between us is that you figured it out a lot sooner than I did. I don't dare spoil it for others, it only has value if they figure it out for themselves. You have yet to accomplish the physical journey, but you've very clearly made the emotional one. You're as good as there.

Congratulations dude, its looking great! - really nicely paced, accelerating all the way to the finish :) well done. I had a feeling your silence meant you had your head down trying to get the project finished, and it doesn't dissapoint.

Would be great to hear the bands reaction!

A+

Greykid Pictures, Mikdog is your missing ingredient. Hurry, before it's too late! He is going to be big. And I mean REALLY BIG. If he stays vigilant, this is a creator of Gennedy Tartovsky proportions, a modern day Jim Henson. He will add his own name to The Pantheon. Please hurry!

And Mikdog, despite the fact that I have introduced your work in a place where I have disagreed with just about everyone, people have only said nice things about it:

I did my best to promote genuine reaction. Please say hi, if you wish.

Ahh the tragic inevitability of the fish bowl, maybe fishy never left,it was the music that had transported him to his magical land of nightspots where the bouncers allow entry to domestic animals.
Loved the animatic, where did all the rest go?

Hi guys, thanks for all the props. ;) Makes me happy.

I took down the old versions and uploaded a better quality version to Vimeo. However, as my 70mb file uploaded is when they decided to do site maintenance, so the vid got lost. I'll have to try again.

I think the band wants to launch the video next month, so I said I'd take down my clips.

However, if I manage to get this 70mb file up and running to show the band (they're in Ibiza at the moment so the Internet's our office) I'll post it here for a while, then take the vid down in a couple days.

Peace!

I'll take it down in a while, but thought I'd just post it here for a bit.

Peace out,

The music track seemed a bit clippy/scratchy at first, but I was also having some streaming inadequacies so maybe it's just that. The thing began to stream smoothly and I didn't notice any audio fuzz after that.

But re: graphic style. Interesting, it has a strong odor of magic marker even tho it's digitalized.

Re: animation. Technically and comically, it's just genius. :?

Thanks!

Ha ha. Having a blast with this.

Got put onto the Vimeo staff pick list:

http://vimeo.com/staffpicks

there was a post a while back asking if it was a mission synching the beat - not really. There were 12 frames per beat, so if I had a scene in my animatic that was 4 beats, I'd make the scene last 48 frames, and I added the clicktrack to each scene so I knew where to hit the beats. If a scene was 2 beats, then the length would be 24 frames. So, when I exported all the scenes, they all fit together neatly like a puzzle. I did some prelim tests with lots of exports of a pulsating circle first just to see whether iMovie would keep things synched nicely over time. But, it kept the music synched with the frames till the end. Didn't skip a beat, nor a frame.
