This is such a great tool. I've just downloaded and tried it. Fantastic!!! It has also vector capacity. Alas, I wish I knew Japanese. I am sure that we use only %10 of the software. Maybe our Japanese friends in this forum, if there are some, can help us to understand the tricks.

Thanks for the link Selgin...

I don't think it's appropriate to post instructions on getting around software restrictions on this forum - how would you feel if they posted instructions on how to defeat Moho's demo restrictions on their forum?

Moderators, you should delete the offending post, it's a bad precedent to set if you allow this.

Don't forget about Xara which has a FREE Linux version. Very cheep considering that it poses itself as being bigger, badder, and faster than Adobe Illustrator.

Xara is a vector engine, its faster than adobe illustrator and the user interface isnt all that great. You cant really compare it to SAI

Wll, I used Xara Xtreme and Moho. I love them both, but Xara's interface is a lot better than Moho's. It's quick, packed with intuitive features, and simple enough not to get in your way. I stopped used Illustrator because it's none of those things....
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

Ok, I'm understanding how Sai works.
it's a beta version limited to 30 days for testing. but they are uploading new versions each 30 days.

after this days, sai only can save and open to .bmp
but when this happens, you just must go and download the current version.

really i haven't found any software as good as Sai, and it's getting better and better each month.

a couple tips:

-control + alt and dragging the mouse make bigger of smaller the brush.
-insert, supr, start, end, ad page and back page keys controls the zoom and turn the paper.

-E is the command for the eraser
-N is the pencil
-V is the brush
-X change to the secondary color
-B is the aerograph
-D erase the layer content
-0-9 controls the brush transparency

-Control+U opens a color balance window
-Control+D paint all the layer or mask
-Control+A masks all

-Control+W close the file
-Control+O open
-Control+S save
-Control+N new file

-Control+H make something i can't understand

-Space bar hold+drag the mouse move the canvas

and the last for now, if you see, down of the rectangle colors there is a little -drawn into squares- rectangle, if you activate it, any pencil or brush will become into an eraser.

Please, don't refuse Sai just because its in japanese. it's an excellent drawing software.
