Mac users, from now on you can play WMV movies from within QuickTime, using the free plugin Flip4Mac.
Flip4Mac has been purchased by Microsoft, because they don't want to support Media Player for Mac anymore (just as they dropped the support of Internet Explorer for Mac). Until recently, Flip4Mac was shareware, but now it is freeware. Only for using the authoring functions you'll need to buy the payed version.

The new version 2.0.1 of Flip4Mac works without crashing. An earlier version crashed in combination with QuickTime 7.0.4. See also this thread.
Remember that you need to use QT 7.0.4, because earlier versions have a serious security bug, which allow hackers to get control over your computer when you view malicious files.
