opensource 2D program

There's an opensource 2D program being deveoped called K-toon.
It's still only available in unix, but will be going windows.

Yep. Trying to get into helping them. But have gotten no response.

Synfig Studio is another one in development, though after contacting the developer I've found that it is currently in limbo.

That Synfig Studio looks nice from the images. Can Moho use external dll's? If so and you talk to the Synfig developers and they are going nowhere with it they should look at developing extensions and tools for Moho users (assuming that is possible). I purchased Moho because of the features AND low cost. Even though I am at best a hobbyist user I would buy low cost add ons and tools if something interesting came along. There are plenty of suggestions on the forums here from people asking for features that might be better done as 3rd party tools than part of the core product.

It runs on Windows Mac OSX and Linux.

Yep. He is currently building the backend to his website and making it into a wiki of sorts. So people that are interested in developing can submit patches, etc.
