Hi everyone, I was wondering if it's possible to use the 3d program sketchup for building sets/environments to go inside ASP 8 to help speed up the animation process( i'm new to asp)?

thanks to any help


examples I thought was cool of the 3d models just toon shaded

As long as it exports .obj with texture I don't see why not!

Another great free 3d modeler is wings3d, at http://www.wings3d.com

I think Wings is better as it is better at making organic models then Sketchup, as well as non organic.

Question: Also once the modeled is built in wings 3d or sketchup do i have to animate/rig it first and export it or can i just animate/rig the object in ASP?

You can't reliably rig a 3d object in anime studio. The reason I say reliably, is because it is a 2d rig and you can add a 3d object into the bone group, but it is going to treat it as 2d, so it can produce weird results. it wasn't designed for that.

I know this might be a stretch, but ASP hosts Poser scenes and animations. You would have to import your model into poser and rig it there. Then save that file and import into ASP. The bending is then accessible via dials for tweaking.
