Thanks teotoon, I ended up "wasting" several hours checking it out. It's way cool, and even better, runs with wine on linux. Thanks for the link!

Is this for real?

Post by gochris »

I have Deep Paint 1 and it's a terrific program. So getting DP2 for free seems too good to be true. Does anyone know why Right Hemisphere would put it out for free? I've never downloaded anything from download.com -- is this for real?

Hello Gochris,

Yes, it's real - Right Hemisphere are apparently using Deep Paint 2 (the 2D-only version, no longer listed as one of their products) as bait to attract people to their current 3D-related products Deep Paint 3D and Deep Paint UV.

download.com has been a freeware/shareware download site for some time now.

The download is also starting to show up at a couple of other download repositories, such as Ziff-Davis (ZDNet)

Watch out for the size of the download (around 60MB) if you're on dial-up.

Thanks, Teotoon!

Regards, Myles.
