How come I've never seen this guy's stuff before? Watch it. Take notes. Then watch it again. There's so much done right here.
1. Style. He's got one, of his own.
2. Dynamics. This is really snappy. Strong poses and FAST movements, and then some slow movements against fast ones. Good use of vibrations, too.
3. Economy. There's only animation where it matters, but you don't notice the holds.
4. Reactions. Characters in the same shot react to each other.
5. Dance. Just count how many times he re-uses the same dance, but makes it look different each time. He even uses his as a joke in the pas de deux (the lifting figure going wrong). And then there's the corps du ballet in the end, where he makes nice use of delayed movement.
6. Funny movements. Just the walk of that little guy, or the way he flips the switch.

The music unfortunately sucks.

Very zen. What you said, and I liked the economy of movement too.
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
