Hi guys
Forgive the dumb question but I'm new to the mac. I've been given a DVD to grab reference from for the show I'm doing. Trouble is I have no idea how to take a screen grab. I tried grab that come s with OSX but it wont let me. Any tips from the Mac chaps?

Thanks

Uhm, I think it works when you set your DVD player not to fullscreen mode. But haven't tested this.

cheers Mr T
Didn't seem to work anyway I tried. I found a nice little app called "snap and drag" though. Freeware and works very well.

You need a utility like the freeware app Capture Me. Because Apple has their OS configured to comply with the MPAA's DVD standards, Mac OS X's built in screen capture tools don't allow for screen grabs containing video from Apple's DVD player software.

It's annoying, but at least it's trivial to get around.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

You're right, Bones. I just tested it, and the FUCKING RETARDED SOFTWARE PRHOHIBITS ME TO USE MY PAID DVD IN A WAY I WANT TO! Sorry for my French. This is a serious fault, not only for me, but for all animators, film students, film critics, historians, and so on. It's much like "Thou shalt not use your Mac to do serious work" or "thou shalt not have intelligent internet but only Web TV."

I'm pissed.

ha ha...you echo my thoughts Mr T. Snap and drag works very well though.
