All my animation has disappeared?

Post by AngryMonster »

Hey there people...

Here is my problem...

I have an AS file that had animation on it ... I have saved a couple of versions of it. But, for some reason when I opened the file to continue work on it yesterday - ALL the animation and keyframes had disappeared!?... And then I thought ... ok thats cool, no worries ... I will just open up an older version. But it turns out ALL my older versions have lost their animation too??... the only thing left in all the files are the models/colour styles on frame 0

Now that seems wierd? and a bit impossible... has anyone encountered this before?

This may sound silly but... are you certain you have the correct layer selected?

I have done something similar. Thought the program or the file was "broken" only to discover I was on the wrong frame or had the wrong layer selected.

Yeah ... I have done that many a time.

But, no ... I have checked every layer/group/bone

It isn't a biggy ... we can animate the scene again - not much animation in the scene.

Just kinda freaky that we lost animation on all the files?
But, if no one else has had this problem ... I guess we can put it down to human error (like most things)

Strange...
Have you tried opening the .anme-files in a text editor to see if there are any animation there and Moho just can't recognise it or if it is completely lost from the files?

good idea rylleman

Do you know what the indicators are that would suggest there is animation?

Thanks

Keep an eye out for parts that look like this,

Code: Select all

[
				keys 14
					0 1 0.1 0.5 0.615745 -0.233559
					13 1 0.1 0.5 0.615745 -0.233559
					18 1 0.1 0.5 0.670832 -0.653143
					23 1 0.1 0.5 0.888996 -1.061076
					29 1 0.1 0.5 0.902708 -1.23932
					40 1 0.1 0.5 0.820441 -1.211898
					53 1 0.1 0.5 1.122085 -1.691785
					62 1 0.1 0.5 1.108374 -1.719207
					73 1 0.1 0.5 0.751886 -1.335299
					83 1 0.1 0.5 0.68333 -1.349009
					96 1 0.1 0.5 0.902708 -2.048274
					107 1 0.1 0.5 0.861574 -2.144251
					121 1 0.1 0.5 0.573642 -1.678075
					130 1 0.1 0.5 0.518798 -1.650654

which indicates that there are animation in the file. If you can't find any or if it just says "keys 1" everywhere your animation is lost from the file.
