- What is interpolation?
- And what is switch layer interpolation.
I have seen it refered to a lot on this forum...but I cant figure out what it is?
Please explain ... keeping in mind I am new to AS.

Further to what Nolan said:
Some animators know them as fairings.
Particularly of interest in AS: You can right-click on a keyframe marker in the timeline to change the interpolation between that keyframe and the next.
Useful if you want to use linear or step interpolation.
If you duplicate a vector switch sub-layer and move the points around, you can set the switching to interpolate between the 2 switch sub-layers, so you get automatic "morphing" between the 2 switch sub-layers.
