Audio output

Post by Jkoseattle »

When I'm working in Moho untethered from my home studio, the project's audio goes out the Surface speakers as it should. However, if I plug it into my Surface Dock, which sends all output to the dock (and subsequently to my receiver) the audio doesn't re-route, and still goes out the speakers. Then I discovered that even when it is not plugged into the dock, if I merely plug headphones in, Moho still goes out the speakers, which is so weird because Spotify goes out the headphones as expected at the same time. The problem is resolved by merely closing and re-opening Moho, but is there any way to tell Moho where to route audio?

Audio routing is done by the OS, not Moho. Maybe the OS has app-specific settings?

OSX in its newer incarnations has become quite stubborn about audio routing. Before 10.6, audio applications were able to easily route where they wanted. Since then it's a hodgepodge of in-app settings and the old trusty audio panel in the systems settings. Moho doesn't have any ability to route, so you have to look at system.

This is Windows 10. You made an OSist distinction. You OSist.

You didn't mention your OS. Unfortunately OS sounds like OSX too much.

Yeah, I know I didn't, my fault there. Anyway. I don't know what's going on, learning to live with it, adding to the long list of frustrating things about Moho that will probably never get fixed. But hey! In version umpteen.2 we now support using DFQ blocks when importing GHX twiddles from your BBZ files! Never mind that you still have to constantly zoom in and out and in and out just so you can reasonably click on a keyframe, check out those GHX twiddles!

OK, I'm having a really lousy day, pardon the rant.

I have the same problem. My OS is Windows 10 Home. Also when I plug in the headphones Moho play button doesn't work. Yes, the solution is close and open Moho. But maybe there is a more efficient solution.

Correction to my earlier post. This does seem to be a Moho issue.
