Not everything respects bones

Post by Jkoseattle »

This is probably something simple. I have a character of about 5 layers. I put the layers into a bone group, add a bone, but manipulating the bone only affects three of the five layers in the group. I've tried a hundred things to fix this, but not the one thing that will actually fix it. So frustrating, something so simple...

Perhaps other binding methods are in effect? Sometimes this happens to me if I've been experimenting with various methods and lose track of what I've done.

Rather than spending a lot of time trying to fix these kind of problem, I prefer to select the 'broken' layers and choose the menu command Reset All Bone Rigging. This resets the selected layers to the default Flex-binding mode, making it easier to bind the layers as I wish.

When using the Reset All Bone Rigging command, be sure to select the specific layers you want to reset first, otherwise it will reset all the layers. (I think that's how it works anyways.)

I see your Feet and Body layers are checked (next to the visibility-icon). Perhaps that's the reason why.
