Render errors
Hi,
I'm working on a project and it seems that Moho is unable to handle the data.
Exported .avi's are unable to play when length is longer than 1100 frames @ 50fps 1080p.
When rendering parts of the animation, the .avi's are correctly rendered.
The animation is basically a puppet with .psd artwork (7304 x 4469 pixels), that moves a bit but nothing extraordinary.
What could be causing something like this?

Re: Render errors
You expect your computer to play back an AVI in 8k 50fps? I think even the newest Apple Mac Pro would have some trouble with that.

Re: Render errors
To me, the decision to use that large psd's and to set output just as FHD is rather much more interesting.
Have you tried scaling down those psd's prior to import? You obviously scaled them down to fit the frame, so - why not prior to import?

Re: Render errors
It seems his problem is not inside Moho - he's able to export - but afterwards, in the video player.

Re: Render errors
It's still just FHD as output and not 8K.
I believe he could still have a memory issue with those psd's and could check up on some tricks, on how to reduce psd files size. Aside from resizing, sometimes, even a solid layer on top could do, too many layers do affect the size, cropping...etc.

Re: Render errors
Thanks for your replies.
The reason for the PSD resolution is due to camera zooms I'll be animating later (would look pixelated otherwise).
My PC specs:
-Core i7 9900K
-64GB RAM
-Geforce RTX 2070
The .AVI seems to export fine from Moho, but ends up corrupt (unplayable / not working in After Effects).
For now, the solution seems to be dividing the export into multiple parts.

Re: Render errors
I had a similar problem when exporting a long animation with a big psd file. I divided the animation in pieces with a length of max. 800 frames. This solved the problem.
Re: Render errors
Same problem occurs with PNG files btw (exported layers from PSD)...
Re: Render errors
Have you tried exporting it as a png sequence?
This should be a sure shot and for the whole piece in one.

Re: Render errors
Thanks, and yes, a PNG sequence exports / imports fine as expected.
Unfortunately, editing/compositing multiple PNG sequences is much slower than less compressed formats like Uncompressed / MagicYUV .AVI

Re: Render errors
Hope you would not mind my curiosity - what do you use for video (exports) editing?
Re: Render errors
After Effects
Re: Render errors
Well things aren't exactly getting better.
Trying 4K 50fps .AVI exports now, won't even render 500 frames correctly. Have to break a 1000 frames animation in 4 parts per layer comp
Guess I'm reverting to exporting PNG sequences, and then rendering ProRes4444 alpha proxies in After Effects.

Re: Render errors
1000 frames in 4K are 2.5 GB. Did you ever even check if there's enough RAM for that?
Do the math before you render.

Re: Render errors
Can you do the math for me? I have 64GB RAM.
