Show Play & view Controls War

Post by Ahayut »

Hey guys, again,
Here's an annoying one- when undocking the timeline (I need a bigger view) the flipping Show Play & view Controls bar disappears.
It was working fine for few days, then disappeared. When I dock the timeline it shows again.
I know in the View tab there's a show/hide button. It doesn't work.
Anyone here has any idea why it disappears?

The Transport controls are not part of the Timeline window, they're part of the main workspace window.

Check that the controls are not being covered up by the un-docked Timeline.

Hope this helps.

Or do you mean they disappear from the Workspace window? If so, check that Show Play & View Controls is enabled under the View menu.

This setting should persist when it's enabled. If it's being randomly disabled, I'm not sure what can cause that.

Hey Greenalaw, thanks again!
It was latter, it completely disappeared from the work view panel. But I did not give up!
I literally pressed all combinations on the keyboard and realized shift+cmd+t hides this bar. No idea why, but there you go.
Thanks again for the help.
Till next time :)

Ha, ha. It's always something isn't it? :)

BTW, that shortcut opens the Switch Selection window on my system. I checked for what shortcut was assigned for Play & View Controls and I don't have any shortcut assigned to it. You may want to check what your shortcut keys are set to, and remove that shortcut if you don't use it.

Hope this helps.

If you haven't intentionally set up custom shortcuts, just select Default in the Keyboard Shortcuts window, and that should reset it.

Mine are modified so I can use a custom button panel I created. I'll be making that tool and its custom shortcuts available to other users soon.
