Moho Toon Looking 3 D vs Blender

Post by ceam »

Hello.
I started to learn working with Modeling Programms. My goal is to make an Anime with 3 D graphics/models. I used Blender first and find out that i cant make a toon looking.

This guy know how it works but i couldnt copy his settings. There is a material window under the model.

This guy here worked with Moho and made what i wanted.

Has Moho also a difficult material setting? Moho is made for anime, i think its a lot easier to give it an good anime look.

What are your experience with Moho? Is it easy to make a 3 d model and let it looks like an anime?

Can i import my Blender models to Moho?

Hello Ceam, I think you mix up things a bit. Blender ist (mostly) build for 3D animation. Moho is a tool for 2D animation. Although you can import 3D models in Moho this is not moho's strenght. It sounds a bit like you are a newbie to animation, right?
Well first of all you should be clear with what look exactly you want to achive (okay seems you've done that). Then you should be aware that every kind of animation comes with a lot of work (in 3D designing and modeling/rigging, in 2D designing and painting/constructing/rigging).
I worked in 3D aninmation as well as in 2D an for me 2D is the weapon of choise. I like to draw and paint and thats necessary for good 2D animation.
I think you should get the trial version of Moho and try it by yourself. There are a lot of scenes already build in the library so you can see how it's done.

There are books out there about contemporary animation production workflows. See your local library, or (gasp!) buy one at your local book shop.

Hey Ceam,
this character is 2D, means: It is flat. I think it's handdrawn. You can define the edges (colours, thickness). But you have to draw the character. Then you have to split it into different layers (for arms, legs and so on). The layers are rigged with bones, then you can animate it.
You should get familiar with 2D animation. Maybe you should watch tutorials on Youtube to get an idea of how it works with Moho.
