Exporting GIMP & Inkscape layers to import to Moho

Post by 7cassandra »

Hello. Does anyone know how to export layers from GIMP and Inkscape so they can be imported into Moho? Every way I've tried merges the layers into one layer, distorts the layers, etc. Thanks! :)

There's a great script that process PSDs In Gimp into layered pngs wrapped up in a Moho file.
It's not easy to find or install but it is very good.

Inkscape is easier just export an SVG.

Sometimes Moho imports Inkscape SVGs incorrectly. If you're experiencing distortions, switching to .eps format should help.

Just to add, I think there's also a plugin for Inkscape that imports layers to Moho/AS. I also think I recall (some time since I've had to do it) that if you import an .svg it imports layers as objects all on the one layer. You theoretically can use Scripts>Layer Effects>RT:Break Apart Shapes to convert the objects to layers, success depending on how you've organised your Illustrator/Inkscape file - probably a bit of a mess if you're importing 3d objects.
