A request To Smith Micro

Post by gjordan »

Please, really please, if you work in Smith Micro and you can do something about, try to convince them to fix the crashes from Moho 12.2 and get the current version to a stable version, it could only get a better future for all of us who rely in Moho as a working, learning or hobby tool.

As many of you know, I really like Moho more than Toon Boom or Animate, but many people keep telling me its too buggy to use as a production tool, so the solution it to invest a little more to fix the current version buggs, like the stwich layer craches and with that get all the current users happy.

If in some way you work in Smith and can do something, it could be amazing, many people are waiting for a miracle and a new patch to fix this problems.

Hope somebody hear our prayers..

I agree, 12.2 is more crashy than 11 was. On the positive end, Moho Exporter is way less crashy than earlier versions. In fact, the new Exporter never crashes on me, whereas ASP 11's Batch Exporter crashed all the time.

FYI, most of the 12.2 crashing is related to the Auto-Save option so be sure to turn it off. This feature has become kinda useless anyway because when it does save your file, it often saves a corrupt file. (Typically, a zero-data file.)

Once we disabled Auto-Save, Moho 12.2 became about as stable for us as before and is quite usable now. Just be sure to make incremental saves as you work to be safe.

The devs are aware of the problem, btw. Hopefully, this will get a fix soon.

Truly my friend hope all the bugs get fixed soon, but In facebook group another constantly bug I hear about its the fearsome switch layers bug, many peopple find this, maybe something related to the amount of layers under a swich layer and the memory management but can't say, some of the peopple having this issues has chose to downgrade to 12.0 but that should not be the answer to this because anyway all of us pay for the software and need it work good, hope so for our own good
