Create black ectangle in a layer, check animated layer effects in layer tab, then set 2 keys with 0% and 100% opacity.

Re: fade into black effect at the ending
Do what slowtiger said and also place everything in one group. Then for the group, check 'animated layer effects' and set three keys. One at the start of the animation, one at where you want the fade to start. (opacity should be 100%) then one at the end of the animation. (opacity at 0%).
Now you have a black background fading up with the foreground fading out.
