Temporary deactivate bone for action timeline?

Post by vealti »

I'm working on figuring out head turns. I made a simple face and 2 smart bone dials using point animation. There are no bones besides the two dials. One dial makes the face look left / right with the neutral pose in the center. The other dial makes the face look up and down. Again neutral pose in the center of the smart bone action. So now I want to start adding some other features to the face. But when I go into the action timeline for the look left/right the look up/down smart dial is also effecting it so I can't isolate just the look left/right action. Is there a way to temporary deactivate the up/down bone so it stops influencing the layer? Or maybe I'm going about this whole thing the wrong way?

I think I figured out the issue. I did another project the same and the two bones don't influence each other in the action timeline. In the original I had made some changes to the bone constraints so maybe that did something. Will have to look into that.
