Pro Tools is a professional audio recording and mixing program. It's an industry standard and expensive but not absolutely necessary for 'professional' recording and audio editing.

Moho can accept audio files from almost any third party audio editor.

A lot of users like Audacity, which is free. I use SoundForge to record audio and Vegas Pro to mix audio tracks; sometimes I'll use Adobe Audition. I used record all my audio with a handheld Zoom H4 recorder (still do occasionally.) These days I mostly use my tablet computer and a Yeti Blue mic with a wind screen. Any of this works well for Moho.

Moho doesn't really have audio editing or mixing tools but it does allow you to directly record audio and apply a few process tricks to a recording. I think it's fine for recording temp tracks but you'll probably want something better for 'pro' recording and editing.
