Problems saving

Have an issue saving over the same file. Here's what happens:

1. save file
2. shut down program
3. restart program the next day and work on the same file
4. it refuses to save, says "the file may be marked read only or you may be trying to save to a read-only disk" HUH???
5. Have to save it under a different name

So now I have duplicates of everything I work on because it won't save over the same file!! I'm afraid to shut the program down at all because it might not save again!! :x

Hello Mad, have you checked your permissions for that drive?

Should this happen again, i got a temp fix as well, it involves a process called com surrogate.
CTRL+ALT+DEL,
then go to task manager,
go to the full set of options and look under processes for Com Surrogate,
if you see even one version of it, right click on it and press "End task" or hit the end task button.
It's supposed to help with graphics (particularly with gpu related stuff and thumbnail saving for the files) but is very buggy and may cause some memory leak issues.
Simply make sure all com surrogates are gone from the list, but do not touch or end task to anything else.
Then close your task manager and try saving again. I have tested this on windows 8, 8.1, and 10. It occurs in Anime studio 10-11.3 (Pro tested, not sure about debut)
This may be a reoccurring thing, so keep that in mind.

Hope this helps,
-Matt

Thanks Matt. This is helpful because one of the error messages had something to do with this com surrogate thingy, which I'd never heard of.

So far, changing drive permissions has helped but will add your fix too.
