unwanted pixelation and blurring problems

Why is my animation looking like this?

The boys face looks blurred and the woman's arm and leg lines are pixelated and these are vector lines. The background is a PSD file. What is happening?

I have tried rendering as AVI, Qucktime animation, MP4 and h.264 and still the same.

I have tried unchecking "anti aliased edges" I have tried different encodings, mp4, animation, h.264 and the edges still come out pixelated. I saw my animation on TV tonight and it looked very pixelated. It was quite embarrassing.

I have checked so many other threads on this topic and I see no solutions. This complaint has existed as far back as 2009 from what I see in this forum. I am about to try fps at 24 and key framing at 12 to see if it makes a difference. How is this a professional software if it's rendering like this?

Video has been removed, but the most likely cause is that you have many stacked shapes which compound the problem as more shapes are composited during render. Usually caused by using the paint bucket to repaint shapes, which actually just keeps making new shapes without removing the old ones.

Here is an example of what I mean. In this case the background is an image. Look at the man in the car driving and the outline of the bushes in the background. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2poF9rCBsY4
