Hello everyone,
The following thoughts should be considered by every artist and your thoughts are also welcome.
I gave a thought concerning selling animation videos and then the following dilemma came to mind-
Can an artist legally sell (for commercial use) animation videos, or images, in the known formats such as quicktime(MOV), AVI etc., as well as to sell images in formats, such as JPEG, PNG, TIFF etc.?
And what about using such formats within a projects(such as importing images) and exporting in another format, like a video one, that is based on the images?
Or maybe, making such commercial use needs a royalties payment of some kind to the formats' owners/developers?
Do anyone knows what are the rules concerning this so we could all feel and be totally safe?(any links and resources are thankfully welcome)
Thanks!

No artist pays any royalties for using a certain format. You may continue to sleep well.
