Just to make sure, you are clicking on the PLAY button here? How many frames is your animation range here?

Having never had this problem I'm wondering if it's something as simple as you not having any frames in your animation.

Well these things often turn out to be something simple so it's worth eliminating the obvious first. In this case I have no idea what's causing your problem. Hopefully someone can advise.

Do you have a lot of layers and other items such as audio actions to process. This could be hold up the play button. Could be more down to the processing via the graphics card speed.

I guess more ram  better processing speed  and improved rendering :x might help a little. Worth checking on background apps in use and using a monitor for the processor. When I checked my little handy work on rendering it shot through the roof on the monitor :?
