Anime Studio 5 question

Post by gdub »

Hi,
I'm doing some projects in version 5, and ran across something that's puzzling me. I acquired some version 5 characters from Content Paradise for studying. In the layers window, you can create a vector, image, bone, and switch layer, yet in some of the version 5 character files, there is a folder in the layers window, kind of like a group folder, but I can't figure out how it was created. Anyone know how this is done?
Thanks!

Just click on the new layer button at the top of the layers window at the right, there You should see group, click on it and a group layer should appear in your list of layers.

From there You can drag it wherever You want!

That's the problem, there is no Group when I click on the new layer button,
just Vector, Image, Bone and Switch.

Anime Studio 5 (the non pro version, later called "Anime Studio Debut") can't create groups. Anyway, a group layer is practically the same than a bone layer, only with the difference you can't create bones on a group layer.

Oh, my bad, forgot there was a non pro 5 :)

Yeah, just use a bone layer as a group layer.

Your files was probably made in the pro version, which is why You can see a group layer, but the non pro version cannot create those.
