Hello capricorn33.

I did say workflow 3 times, it tells you that the video set would focus on workflow.

But I cannot go into workflow without having a look at the tools used first of course.

I was thinking about including a drawn storyboard with the project files and go through it in one of the introduction videos.

But, it could be a great idea to include a section on how to use the lost doodle tool (Ramon Lopez) to make a storyboard from inside Anime Studio.

I had some requests for a tutorial on the lost doodle tool, a great script that deserves a tutorial and that is perfect for storyboarding.

The opening shot with Po walking toward the bridge would look awesome in stereo, and maybe 1 or 2 sequences inspired by the combat scenes.

That clip doesn't work, copyright violation it says. Got another one?

Yeah, it is not my work, so I should not have uploaded it, only wanted to give you guys an idea.

Uploaded it on Vimeo this time, maybe it will work, will post the link when it is converted!

Sorry about that!

Okay, I've seen it now, thanks.

So you want to have a tutorial on a character walking towards camera? That's going to be quite abstract, they tend to look like people wiggling about, and the feet are going to slide. It's not very sophisticated animation.

How about something with full body movement and non-sliding feet? Like from 1.00 to 1.02 on this Simpsons sequence, as Homer steps back and points - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aBaX9GPSaQ

I'm not saying that exact movement, but it does demonstrate a lot of the concepts that would be useful.

What do you think?

I want to make something inspired by the clip, not an exact replica.

The opening scene is a great example for compositing, especially in stereo, which I want to get into.

The a good fight scene, which involves some pretty intense animation and then a close scene with more in depth walks and the such.

Walks are good, fighting is okay as long as it isn't too snappy.

Personally, the animation part of the tutorial would be more useful than the stereoscopic part (although I can sense that the stereoscopic part would be a lot more fun for you to create ;) ).

I used to be a Flame Artist, compositing is in my blood! :)

Compositing is an absolute skill to learn to produce anything that looks professional, might as well make it fun.

I want to show different kind of animation so users would be able to do any type of production after going through the set.

I still need to write the short story for it, maybe 20-30 seconds of animation, which would take at least half of the set to show.

This sounds like a great series. I bought Parker's excellent drawing tuts and would buy this one as well.

Madriver thanks!

Working on the story right now, will post first draft today!

Hi again Gilles.
will this be the "e-book" format you've been discussing in other threads?

Hayasidist, I have not decided yet, I will make the movie first, then will decide for good!

Thanks for your support Shannock.

I voted maybe in the poll, mostly because I wasn't sure what you had in mind till I read further. But I really am pretty interested.

However, if the focus will be on stereoscopic rendering I may not be as interested. I've experimented with that a bit, just playing around, and I find that I can't really see it easily. I've bought several pair of clip-on red/green glasses and all are uncomfortable to wear over my regular (rather thick) glasses. Add to that the fact that I tend to like cartoony 2D stuff anyway, which is why I like AS.

So my vote, especially if it's about character animation, would be to leave out the 3D stuff. Maybe do something else with that later for those who are interested. If I have to do 3D to complete the tutorial I'm not sure how interested I'll be.

Hello Barry, and thanks for voting!

The tutorials will mostly be about workflow on how to animate characters in Anime Studio.

At first I will have a good roundup of the tools I use, then, in the end, I will show a workflow on how to compose the whole thing, a complete project in a way and stereoscopic render will be part of it.
