That site was a little vague, but the original link in this thread (presumably for the Pro version) stated:

Character Wizard - Design fully rigged characters with multiple - views, walk cycles, expressions and more. Access dozens of predesigned components or add your own creations and reusable actions

I'm hoping that means yes, the wizard can use original artwork.

This release looks really good!

just realised the strokes with the Freehand tool now have 'rounded caps' option which is great! And the overlapping drawn strokes join as you sketch which is great too - especially with the delete edge tool! :D

I did notice the part I quoted was not on the page for just Debut. Even still, those drawings need to be saved somewhere, an ambitious person could still maybe find a way to add more.

That's a great video and really shows off the new features well!

yes this video's much more informative.
I initially skipped it cos it was for AS debut 8.
Hopefully they'll do a similar 'step by step' video for the PRO version explaining the patch tool and the pro features of the character wizard.

The Pro video should be coming soon. You can also register for the webinar on Friday to learn more about the New Pro features:

I hope there is a reasonable upgrade price this time. I just can't pay $129 for a new version of the software when there are still bugs in version 7.

I waited on 7 and then finally bought it heavily discounted during a sale, but a bug which prevented me from from exporting audio caused me to lose precious time on a project I had been hired to create (actually my first). I reverted to 6 and haven't touched 7 since.

I do love the software and have spent a ton of time animating with it, but there were still bugs in version 6 when 7 came out. They will never be fixed. In my opinion this cycle needs to be longer, or they need to reward users who ALREADY own the software by giving them a STEEP discount on the upgrade. Especially if 8 fixes any of the bugs in 7.

Where did you see this? I can't see it in the videos. But I would love it if strokes could have rounded caps.

All I see is the standard taper options. Where should I be looking?
