I LOVE THIS MOVIE'S LOOK!
This looks like the type of movie that can be produced using Anime Studio Pro.
Please watch the two examples of this movie on the link below and let me know what you think. Awesome baby, truly awesome.

OK. The 3 minutes of the first trailer have only three shots in which the characters moved other than along the x and y axis: the guy opening his microwave oven, the guy leaving the car, and the girl turning around in conversation. Everything else was either pure cutout style, or a 3D object.
Have a close look at the trailers again, it's really educating. The girl's walk on the street (used 2x) is bad, really bad, she would even walk more elegantly with a loaded diaper.
Although they tried to hide their restricted choice of movements in lots of superimposions, I couldn't help but to feel the whole thing was a bit flat. I think I mentioned that before: flat scenes create a comical effect, whereas deep compositions with perspective and diagonals create drama, according to Marc Kennedy (http://sevencamels.blogspot.com/2009/01 ... matic.html).
The second trailer shows a bit more real movements, but still there's much more background panning than real animation. I think they have used some 3D character reference and animated over it, judging from the fight scenes, overall not a bad effect. But I can't connect to this pouty-lips-plus-blonde-hair-in-the-breeze-girl design. Maybe I'm just not their target audience.
So, if the question were, Could you create this in AS? the answer would be: maybe yes, but it would not be worth looking at.

After watching the trailer though, I think some of it was done in 3D.

I was looking at the SUPERMAN: DOOMSDAY animated Movie
and
I think it could have been totally done in AS Pro
[Maybe even AS5]
Reading this board and playing with AS5 . . . .
makes me look at Animated movies in a new way.
I like the style of GOGOL 13. Which I feel could be made
in either AS software. but I am not the PROFESSIONAL
Omen River

The plot is set in 2074 Belgrade. The main character is Edit, a female psychology student. After failing the same university exam for the sixth time, she decides to visit a dealer on the black market who installs a stolen military chip in her to help her pass. To her surprise, the chip affords her abilities greater than she ever imagined. And, needless to say, the government/military is intent on getting back the chip. From that moment, her life changes and unusual things start happening to her.
In technical terms, the film is combination of four kinds of animations. The main aesthetic model for the film was Japanese anime, realistic drawing with static scenes, with emphasized atmosphere and with authentic artistic expression. It was completed over an 8 year period using classic 2D, improved 3D and vector animation
I found info on the movie
