QuickTime 7 and H.264

Post by b15fliptop »

Excuse this question if it's a stupid one, but I'm wondering how QuickTime 7 and H.264 will affect MOHO. Will that automatically be an option for output if you have it on your system, or is this something that has to be incorporated into the program? Pardon my ignorance on this, but I honestly have no idea where the available rendering options originate.

It sounds like QT7 will be a great thing for MOHO rendering. If you haven't already, read about it here.

The Compression Settings dialog you get when you're exporting QuickTime is implemented as a part of QuickTime itself, not by Moho directly. (Moho just tells QuickTime to ask the user what settings to use.)

So, any improvements to QuickTime will automatically appear in Moho, including the H.264 codec. I guess I should qualify that: any new options in QT7 should appear automatically in Moho, and I have no reason to think they won't, but I'm not in a position to personally guarantee anything about QuickTime.
