support for importing corel photo paint files (?)

This should be a given, not a feature. If a file format has the ability to store alphas, then Anime Studio should recognize that.

I'm having issues with PNG images in AS so Targa with alpha would be a work around, unfortunately AS ignores the alpha.

Yeah I second that, I use tiffs with alpha for other projects but AS forces me to use PNG's which does give that weird outlining effect:

any support on avoiding this would be great!
