when playing previews hide 'dockables'

Post by rocky53204 »

When playing previews I close my timeline and layer windows. (which are undocked)

This allows maximum view space to better see details.

I would like an option to hide undocked windows when I press the play button.
They should re-appear when the stop (play) button is pushed.

It's not exactly the same you are asking, but there's a shortcut to Open/Close all secondary windows: `
Of course, you can personalize the shortcut to any key you want. For instance, since my keyboard is in Spanish and that shortcut is harder to find there, I prefer to use 1 instead of `

Quite helpful, thank you!

I cannot find a reference to that shortcut in the manual. The key is easy to find (on the 'English' keyboard) as it is beneath the 'Esc' key.
(combined with ~ )

I think my suggestion would be fairly easy to implement in existing code as it could call that function.
Your method requiring a single extra stroke is useful for now... I have been using several in a tedious manner.

Thanks again!
