are bug reports and feature requests being heard? at all?

LOST MARBLE - please read this...

ah, i remember the days when updates were frequent, and the Man Mike Clifton was around to respond to people's questions and/or requests....

i remember posting feature requests and seeing them implemented into the next version within less than a month - this was one of the most amazing things about this program and this forum, putting MOHO way beyond any other software experience I'd had.

Nowadays, I get the impression that when it comes to bug reports and feature requests, I might as well be talking to a wall. Or the floor.

Now that efrontier has taken over (have they taken over? what's the deal exactly?), the stellar support I'd come to associate with moho (ahem, AS) seems to be a distant memory - even though we've been reassured that the new arrangement means more development, and more time for Mike to focus on making the program better (rather than dealing with all the business stuff).

Is anyone out there listening? Are there answers that we should be waiting for? Or should we just resign ourselves to talking to the wall when problems arise, rather than tiring our fingers typing away?

I'm trying to not be negative here - I still love the program and all it can do - but to emphasize my point, I'd be VERY surprised if this message gets any response from efrontier or lost marble.... :?

i think they still do read this and upgrade moho/AS depending on the ergency of the request(s). I still do think that they have missed many bugs and features (like gradient controls, colour picker etc.), but it's probably in their best interest to provide a piece of software that works before forging in some new features.

otherwise i've hit 600 posts - i've been on here for too long. I don't know whether to say its sad i've got 600 posts or whether it's fantabulous!

Well, the problem on Macs where none of the file dialogs called from scripts (and many within the main program) don't work seems pretty catastrophic, has been mentioned many times...

...and I haven't seen any official response. Personally, although I just throw my scripts out there for folks to use, I've had to field a number of questions (posts/PMs/Emails) regarding "Why don't they work?". And what can I say but - the file dialogs in scripts just don't work on OSX, sorry, can't help you. Previously, that would be the sort of "OHMYGOD" bug that would have been fixed in days at most.

Maybe its a function of how E-Frontier's distribution system works. LM could put out updates at will, because you could simply download them and update. E-Frontiers system is a lot more hermetic, and I could see a possibility that there could be a fix sitting there and it's just too giant a hassle to drop it in the distribution stream. That would be sad.

Hate to be a squeaky wheel, but a "we're aware, and working on it" would be cool.

I would imagine LM is busy with the problems of going truly mass market - there'll be lots of compatibility issues now that the potential marketplace is wider.

It makes financial sense to prioritize the masses (potential users), rather than the "power users" (who've already bought it).

E-frontier want people to buy AS, it will take those noobs a while before they find all these problems, and by that time they'll be fixed.

So we'll just have to wait. Glad I'm not using Moho on Linux, though - they'll be the poor relations at the end of the list.

Unless it's turned into Bauhaus/TV Paint already... :D

What a legal mess that is. I surely hope LM and e frontier don't solve matters that way. I had hoped that partnering with a company would have meant that Moho is continued to being developed. Forking Moho into AS and AS Pro has introduced some bugs that need to be solved as soon as possible.

BTW I'm tempted to buy TVPaint, just to let TVPaint Développement know that I prefer their product over Bauhaus Mirage (which frankly has become bloated software).

I agree that the support for us and the program itself has been lacking. Not only that but I get emails from efrontier about all of their products, yet they seem to never mention Anime Studio. So that leaves me to believe that no one else is either. I'm just wondering why the support and advertising is lacking so bad for this product. I won't complain much as I love this piece of animation software. It would just be nice to hear something from time to time.
